Dana John MacKay

Dana John MacKay, founder of DJM Companies, has more than 30 years’ experience and expertise in commercial real estate development. As a partner in The Foundation Group (TFG), Mr. MacKay is responsible for project feasibility analysis, acquisition, equity and development debt structure, and business development for the company. He also serves as the managing partner of DJM Companies (DJMCO). Through DJMCO and its affiliates, Mr. MacKay was responsible for the development of approximately 200 million square feet of commercial space with a value in excess of $250 million. Project types include office, restaurant, and retail, and hotel, light industrial and self/mini storage with an emphasis on multi-use and redevelopment projects. Prior to his involvement with DJMCO, Mr. MacKay was a development partner with Commerce Development Associates. He began his real estate career with Trammell Crow Company where he served as the Director of Marketing for Douglas Plaza in Irvine/Newport Beach a 55 acre office/hotel/retail/restaurant joint venture project between McDonnell Douglas and the Trammel Crow Company.

Mr. MacKay is also managing partner of Yogurtland South Bay, LLC, which owns and operates nine Yogurtland locations in Southern and Northern California. He developed a unique partnership structure in which investors participate in the cash flow of all stores. He is managing partner of Prime Management Services, which is the operating entity used to provide overall management of the individual stores. He is also a partner in Wahoo’s South Bay, which owns and operates a Wahoo’s restaurant in Redondo Beach, CA.

Mr. MacKay is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He graduated Cum Laude from the University Southern California and has Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He is married to wife, Elizabeth, and has 5 children.
